Even if you don’t plan on competing, you will improve from this training. The more students that get involved, the better we will all become. This web page outlines details about practice, tournaments, rankings and other activities.

2010 Battle of the Border!

Be Ready !!!!!! (Oct 9th)

Team Objective:

The team will participate in no less then 4 non – East West tournaments and all EWMA tournaments in a given year. The team will also plan one outside event that can include traveling to train at a different school; participating in a seminar together; etc. The team will also organize two special events per year.

Schedule: Friday’s 6 – 7:30 pm

Participants:Men and Women/All belt levels/Gi and No – GI

September 3rd Practice Details & Announcements:

First 30 min – Strength, Conditioning & Flexibility Training:

- 5 Min – Bow/Meditate/Flexibility Training

-20 Min Team Exercises & Circuit Training

- 5 Min – Flexibility Training

Second 30 min – Tournament Style Training:

- We will divide up the groups and do three minute matches

Final 30 min – BJJ Drilling and Technique:

- This week we are going to focus on wrestling

September 10th Practice Details & Announcements:

First 30 min – Strength, Conditioning & Flexibility Training:

- 5 Min – Bow/Meditate/Flexibility Training

-20  Circuit Training

- 5 Min – Flexibility Training

Second 30 min – Tournament Style Training:

- Judo / Wrestling Matches

- BJJ Tournament scoring & Judging / BJJ Technique

September 17th Practice Details & Announcements:

First 30 min – Strength, Conditioning & Flexibility Training:

- 5 Min – Bow/Meditate/Flexibility Training

-20 Min Team Suicides/Mega Cardio

- 5 Min – Flexibility Training

Second 30 min – Tournament Style Training:

- Mini EWMA In house tournament double elimination.

Final 30 min – BJJ Drilling and Technique:

-  Judo/BJJ Technique

Team Point System:

The point system tracks each team member’s progress toward the different team east west achievement levels.  All team members have to earn there way onto the team by showing commitment and excellence.  The Current Achievement levels and Point system are outlined below:

* Note: You either get the 10 points for participate in a match or the points for winning the match, but not both.

** Note: When a student makes the team by earning enough points they will be reward by East West for their commitment and focus!

***There is a multiplier in effect as of next practice that will work accordingly – If a lower belt beat a higher belt multiply the points you earn by x2 (ex: white belt taps a blue belt or above, instead of 50 points they will get 100 points)

If you are not competing please come out and help out! We will need coaches and people to video tape everyone matches.

Note: This is a team!! so if there are specific Tournaments that you want to see the Team  participate in let us know, and we will try to work them into the schedule.

CONGRATULATIONS David Browne, Joe George, Mike Bustamante, Matt Hartley, Ben Clark, Will Murkis, Jerimiah Barry, Kristi Kapala, Phil Anderson, And Mohammad for being the first to earn their way on the team.  Everyone stay focused, EWMA will have another induction ceremony in december to recognize those who pass the 1000 point threshhold over the next few months.  Great work everyone!!!
